Photo Opportunities.

I have been feeling uninspiring lately and it shows seeing as I have not updated my blog in 3 weeks. Last Sunday Logan and I went to Santa Monica to shoot. He has been on a film craze and I love it. He has a Diana+, an Holga and he is borrowing a Polaroid Pro Pack, which is my favorite of the three film cameras we now have.
I don't have a copy of the images we shot yesterday but I will be posting them as soon as Logan scans them. For now I will post the images I shot, last Sunday and yesterday.

Let's Build A Home.

Gato and I are finally setting up our apartment and making it our own. I love settling in, which is different from settling down. We are going to stay by the beach. This is exciting for me. I love living here. We decided to make our place a bit more home-y and we have bought furniture and posters in the last couple of weeks. We have had our dining room table and couches for about 2 weeks now and we finally put our posters up this weekend.
I have an apt covered in leopard print carpet, 70's style couches, a poster of my favorite Beatles album. An awesome John Lennon poster and a Guinness poster. My table is covered with a table cloth scattered with bright colored fruit and flowers.
I am loving the whole ensemble. And so do my friends, they say the furniture, the carpet and the wall art strangely match.

Dinner For One at Casa De Holliday

My Husband is at a workshop. He left Tuesday morning and will be back Friday night. He is at the Mississippi Delta with some of the most awesome photographers in the industry. He is quite lucky to be experiencing such an intimate and inspiring gathering.
While he is away I am home with our three kitties. I ate out on Tuesday, well actually I ordered take out. I was too lazy to cook. Yesterday I was back on the horse and decided to make stuffed mushrooms without the aid of an online recipe. I threw a few ingredients together (from memory of course) and grilled chicken marinated in balsamic vinegar; I grilled asparagus, cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves. Dinner would have not been complete without $2 buck Chuck.
Dinner was yummy I did miss seeing my husband's face across the table though. We have had a dining room table for a week now and I am loving it. It's nice to have a home of my own. I can't wait to see my Gato tomorrow.

Breeze through my Window.

I love the weather lately, it feels more like summer than spring. I have been wearing dresses all week, except for today. I wore my prep shorts with a sheer flower blouse, that I am sad to say no longer fits me :( today is the last day I will be wearing it, I will pass it on to my sister. My co-worker did comment on my outfit and said I looked like "summer". Her comment made me smile.
Here at home it feels like summer, I am in my room, on the bed typing away and looking out the window. Outside I can see lanky palm trees swaying in the breeze, the rolling hills of Malibu and paper white sail boats.
I love this season, I have been lifted out of my winter funk, this year more than ever I looked forward to daylight savings. Losing an hour of sleep doesn't matter when I am gaining an extra hour of sunshine.

Housewife Duties.

Tomorrow will be my 5th month wedding Anniversary (Gato and I are counting our Oct wedding). I have to say I love being a house wife. I take care of my man and he takes care of me. He gives me lovin' and he buys me presents...while I sit on the couch drinkin' fine wine and eating bon bons.
I Love You Gato GUTIERREZ!

Thrifty Shopping!

This week is Pay day Friday! I cannot wait! I need to go out and score, I want to find a jean jacket for my 3 year old fashionista niece, some scarves for my sister, and cigarette pants for myself. Were going to hit the thrift stores early Saturday morning. The South Bay is not renowned for its thrift shops, sure there are a few vintage spots but they cannot touch the cool, hip feel of L.A shops. Cruise down La Cienega and you will see what I mean, cruise down Long Beach, Cruise by any of the shops my fave local fashion icons hit up and you will see. You will see that the city is the place to be.

I'm Back and so is Spring.

I have been gone for a while and now I am back! My hubby has encouraged me to pick up my blogging. I need a push every now and then. What have I been up to? I have been trying to fill up my closet with Nautical style pieces of clothes. I have grown out of every pair of pants I own. This winter left me round and rosy. Rosy thanks to the lovely shade of blush my sister gave me for my b-day and the tube of red lipstick she gave me for xmas. I need to cut my hair, maybe shed some pounds and write more.
Yesterday I picked up a couple of t-shirts and a cardi from H&M. Its so gorgeous, I shouldn't have bought it really but I was not allowed to take it back, even if it meant I would not have any money to do laundry. Who wants to do laundry anyways, when I can buy new clothes.
